Short-Term Editor for DC LGBTQ+ Black History Magazine Project

MMAA is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Short-Term Editor to support our ongoing DC LGBTQ+ Black History Preservation Project. This project is funded through a grant focused on preserving oral histories and artifacts for inclusion in the DC Archives, ensuring that the voices and stories of LGBTQ+ Black community members are honored and remembered.

Responsibilities: Conduct interviews, edit transcripts, write feature articles, coordinate photos with interviewees, review drafts, work closely with MMAA’s Executive Director for article review and approval, incorporate feedback, complete final edits, coordinate final magazine design, and upload audio, video, transcripts, and photos to the grant portal.
